Tag Archive: Mr. Zaid’s book

what usually happened or done by your kids when your house has no electricity supply for hours?

like my kids, they will not sit still and make lots of noise. sometimes i couldn’t even control them. they will start to fight over everything… from holding to a flash light to choosing which pillow they want to cuddle for their bedtime.

my neighborhood was blackout for 8 hours during the night last week. and as expected, my kids went crazy because of the warm room temperature. remembering from what i read from Mr. Zaid’s book, i managed to control them and make them sit quietly throughout the period. i played games with them. just a simple guessing game like name any animals that starts with the letter ‘a’ and so on. surprisingly, they participated in the game and had fun.

aside from making my kids behave during the blackout, i managed to educate my kids the spirit of winning or losing in any games. so, we as parents need to equip ourselves with knowledge and be creative as well.

eye opener

i just received my daughter’s result from her PKSR 1 examination. shocking! i really don’t know where did i went wrong in coaching her… she did really badly. after sitting alone and analyze logically… maybe she faced problems in her school which i didn’t know of.  i was so frustrated to the extend i looked for any child psychologist in Malaysia. there is one in KL and it’s very expensive. i could not afford for the sessions and programmes. after discussing with my colleague, she advice me have discussion with the school teacher.

from what i remembered, my parents did not do that. they just leave me with my school and i turned out to be fine. i did well in my academics and life. but then, i took my colleague’s advice. i went to see my daughter’s teacher and had a very progressive discussion. from the discussion, i learned that i need to take part actively in my daughter’s school life.

other than that, the book of “Smarter Parents Brighter Kids” do really opened my eyes of how to raise and treat my kids. like people always say… education begins at home.

last month my family and i went to international book fair at PWTC. my purpose is to find books on ways to raise my kids. as i glance through all the booths… my eyes caught this 1 particular book by zaid mohamad. the title is very catchy and really focused to what i’m looking for… “Smart Parents Brighter Kids”.

i have finished reading the book now. fabulous and practical for parents who are facing challenges in raising up their angels today. from the book, i concluded that you need updated knowledge for parenting. you could not use the same methods as what had your parents done. it’s totally different scenario and environment.

therefore, read for knowledge… to improve yours.
